St. James Park Announces His Upcoming EP, ‘ocean’

Posted on

St. James Park has made an exciting announcement that he is releasing a new EP, ‘ocean’, in February 2021! When we thought this year couldn’t get any worse, we have been given some clear hope for the new year, with certainty that great new music is on the way. Our expectations are high from the talented and charismatic St. James Park. His music is experimental and innovative, pushing the boundaries of modern indie music. Nature is a huge inspiration for him and it comes across in the raw and earthy sounds infused in his compositions. You can listen to his latest album, ‘Highlight’, here:

The St. James Park studio is located in a small town in the north of Portugal, away from all the buzz of a big city, which was fundamental for ocean’s composition. He took his acoustic and electronic instruments, and even some that were lost in his studio, and composed a piece with five songs that are inspired by human nature. “ocean” was the name chosen by the artist and it represents the nature within humanity – which can either be very calm or very stormy. For this EP he had the opportunity to feature with Grammy nominated saxophonist Samir Zarif Aka FKAJazz and the violinist Helena Silva..

Tiago Sampaio AKA St. James Park is a producer, musician and composer based in Braga, Portugal. After founding the band Grandfather’s House and touring two different albums throughout Europe, Tiago decided to venture into novelty by exploring electronic music. Influenced by experimental electronics, classical music and hip-hop, he released hist debut album “Highlight” in 2020 and quickly caught the public and critics’ attention. This work speaks about a human being who lives between light and darkness, who depends on the addictions of routine and memory to be able to continue on living. On this album he had the opportunity to collaborate with artists like Lince, Noiserv, and his sister and fellow musician IVY.

After “Highlight”, he had the opportunity to integrate the album “Oasis Nocturno (Remixed)” by TOKiMONSTA and also released two remixes of acts like First Breath After Coma and Gator, the Aligator. You can listen to St. James Park’s here:

Our anticipation for St. James Parks new EP is high. His sound will undoubtedly have developed and become even more forward-thinking, setting him apart as a leader in his genre who is unafraid to step away from the norm and create a new standard.
