SHADED Releases Energetic New Song ‘Comedy’ – Drops Today

SHADED debut their new song ‘Comedy’ today. As band members Matt East, Callum Irons and Dan Bradberry put in their own words: “Comedy is basically a massive middle finger to those people that go about their daily lives putting other people down and treading on toes, to then come crawling back when repercussions of their actions come full circle. Everyone knows or has come across these kind of people at some point in their lives. I was treated very badly for a very long time in a relationship, and to later see that person try to worm their way back in to my life was just hilarious to me, so that’s where the lyrics of this song came from. The instrumentation of this track is heavily inspired by latin-pop. The early-2000s craze for the genre, around the time when we were all growing up, gives this track a bit of a nostalgic feel for us. I think that’s why we love it so much”.

London alt-pop trio SHADED have unveiled their plan to release a 20 plus track mixtape album, across the course of one year, with the end result an extended album / mixtape, suitably entitled ‘A Year Of You’.

The band have been steadily releasing singles throughout 2020, ‘k.i.a’, ‘for life’ and the anthemic ‘backpack’. Today, these singles are collected alongside the fervently anticipated ‘apparition’ – already a stalwart fan favourite from the band’s live set – and the haunting ‘i’m fine’, on the first of 4 planned EP collections.

The band, who self-produce and record the majority of their output, are looking to chronicle the process of grieving lost love in creative real time; the songs documenting the emotional rollercoaster of living through and overcoming the pains of heartache, self-doubt and self- loathing, with each staggered EP collection working as a de-facto chapter in this undoubtably universal human process.
