Joshua Flores’ Fresh New EP ‘Quarantine Summer’

Posted on

For Joshua Flores, quarantine became a focused time to write and produce. The result? His fresh new EP ‘Quarantine Summer’

As Joshua put’s in his own words: “All these songs I wrote during the summer while in quarantine, hence the name. I have different genres like R&B, pop, EDM, Hip hop and alternative pop. I mostly write about relatable things like relationships and breakups but I have a couple of up best songs in there that you can dance to.”

Joshua is a 22 year old Pop Artist from Texas. He has been singing since he was 2 1/2 years old. By the time he was 8 , he was singing in public for festivals, sporting games, political events and even got accepted to a prestigious music school out of New Jersey called the American Boychoir School. When he turned 11 years old, he had the opportunity to sing at the Lincoln center with New York Philharmonic and at Princeton University with this choir. Needless to say, it was a great experience. With the help of family and friends he has been able to raise money for a lot of things that he has done when it comes to music. By the time he turned 12 years old he was posting videos on Youtube and getting quite a few views, which lead to getting offers for different things.

Around that time, an Independent record label out of Miami was interested in signing him. Soon after that he was flying back and forth from Texas and Florida to record and develop into a recording artist, by then they ended up signing him at the age of 12 years old. The experience of being signed at a young age had its ups and downs. Mostly downs because he had very little control over many aspects of his life. He did get to work with some great producers but no album was released, just the cover of an old 90’s song called, “Never Should’ve Let You Go”, which he did a music video for, as well. As he got older, he continued to record more music and was about to release a single at the age of 15 but then the record label fell apart and his career stopped for awhile. He was able to get out of his record contract at the age of 18 and graduated high school. Now, he is writing and producing his own music and is wanting to get it out there on his own terms and his own way.

He was able to fundraise enough money last year to produce an EP of five original songs and did a music video for one. He also, released another single in December, in which, he wrote and produced himself. He is growing as an artist and a producer and is getting close to his goal, which is to be an artist/ producer but to collaborate with other artist and producers. “I feel like God, has blessed me with the gift of music and I want to use it as much as I can”.

We’re very much feeling the good ‘Vibe’ across this whole EP. With honest, relatable lyrics and bouncy rhythms it’s great to see Joshua’s quality quarantine output.
